Most drum sounds in music are designed from raw synthesis — a kick drum is an oscillator with a pitch sweep and noise layer, a snare is noise through a bandpass filter with an oscillator click. But no free interactive tool teaches you how percussive sounds are actually built. This project fills that gap.
A percussive sound design studio in your browser. Build kicks, snares, hi-hats, claps, and custom percussion from raw synthesis elements: oscillators, noise generators, amplitude envelopes, filters, and effects. Trigger sounds with pads or keyboard, then save your creations.
Each sound is built from three layers: an oscillator (sine/square/saw/triangle with pitch sweep from start to end frequency), a noise layer (white/pink/brown noise with optional filtering), and an amplitude envelope (attack/decay/sustain/release shaping the loudness over time). A distortion waveshaper and convolution reverb add character. The Web Audio API generates all sound procedurally — no samples are used.
