Procedural text generation has been used by game designers, creative writers, and bot makers for years, but most tools require coding knowledge. Grammar Garden makes the powerful concept of replacement grammars (pioneered by the Tracery project) accessible through an intuitive visual editor - no JavaScript required to use it.
A self-contained procedural text generator that lets you build grammars from scratch. Each rule maps a name to one or more replacement strings. References to other rules (using #rulename#) are expanded recursively until you get complete, coherent text. Generate micro-stories, poem stanzas, fortune cookie messages, names, or anything you can describe with rules.
The engine follows these steps:
#origin# rule - the entry point of your grammar#rulename# patterns#name# inside any value to insert another rule's output.#origin# rule is always the starting point. Its content defines the structure of your generated text.Export: Click "Export JSON" to copy your grammar to the textarea below, then save it.
Import: Paste JSON grammar into the textarea and click "Import JSON".
Choose a template to load. This will replace your current grammar.
